Founded from the story of a Yemeni family who immigrated from the Yemeni highlands to Brooklyn, New York in 1981, Arab Hyphenated explores identity through garments designed to feel lived in, effortless, and lasting.

Artwork & Craftsmanship

Finished with minimal embroidered “Baladna 81” artwork placed on the lower front leg for a clean premium sportswear-inspired detail and look.
“Baladna” means “our country” or “our homeland” in Arabic. The “81” references 1981— the year the founder’s parents immigrated from the Yemeni highlands to Brooklyn, New York. The embroidery is designed as a quiet nod to movement, migration, family history, and building a life between worlds.

Fabric & Construction

Midweight 9.4 oz fleece made from 80% cotton and 20% recycled polyester. Sweat shorts. Full short length with 18” outseam. Soft CVC fleece finish with elasticated waistband, internal tonal drawcord, side pockets, back pocket, and double-needle hems. Preshrunk fabric. Garment-dyed faded finish with a soft worn-in feel.
